Mindful Construction is Outdoor Living - Reimagined. Our concept goes beyond traditional outdoor construction, aiming to create unique and personalized space that aligns with each client's vision. We see the project through from layout design to construction, all the way to the final furniture and decor.

Design is a key element to creating your outdoor haven. Our team of expert designers work with you to understand your vision and thoughtfully considers color, composition and flow to ensure your space is not only functional but also aethetically pleasing.

Having a visual of your outdoor space prior to any construction allows you to make necessary adjustments, make informed decisions, and ensure a realistic and cohesive final outcome, ultimately leading to a more successful and satisfying project.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Design

When it comes to installing a superior outdoor living space, design is key. Our design team can create the perfect layout whether or not you have a detailed vision. We can work within your budget to create a stunning design that you will truly love. Our designers are experts at their craft and know that "actively listening" is important.


Already have a design? Fantastic! We can help with the building and installation of that design and make sure that your furniture/furnishings fit well into the new space. Regardless of your level of preparedness, our team will make sure you are thrilled with the result and enjoy the experience every step of the way.



Build

This aspect is based on three pillars:
Effective Communication: From clients to crew, administration, project managers, and suppliers, we prioritize clear communication, ensuring seanless coordination throughout our projects.
Expertise and craftsmanship. At MCI, we make sure every team member stays informed with the newest techniques, guidelines, and on a regular basis, we take time as a team to learn from each other. The end result: we bring this determination, desire, and drive to do our very best with every project!
Do the Right Thing in every situation. After 40 years in business, we have seen just about everything. Construction can be messy and disruptive, but we want to smooth out those rough edges and address those things that happen out of our control quickly and effectively. Most projects take time, a tremendous amount of effort and skill, addressing unforeseen conditions, and living up to the trust and faith the client has placed in us. In every situation, our response will always be based on doing the right thing!

Decorate

We feel this is a unique offering for our clients, and yet we don’t expect every client to want or need this service. But here is why this is important – after hundreds of projects and seeing the results, too often we’ve seen a client say, but our couches won’t fit under the pergola, or the patio needs to be bigger to fit the firepit we want… ouch! None of which were our projects!


But it does illustrate the need to be mindful when designing and building an outdoor living project. Spatial considerations, furniture scale, placement of items are impactful elements of any project. Without defining these elements, the project is at risk.


Beyond spatial considerations, we have found that clients truly appreciate having a design service for outdoor living. They spend thousands of dollars on design and building the project, but they’re left wondering how to actually decorate the space. With our experience and expertise, we can help develop a furnishings plan and layout that rolls into our upfront process.

We want to thank Tony for helping us through our entire project. We had waited 5 years to redo our backyard and were stunned at the quotes we were getting – they were twice our budget, and we didn’t know what to do! Tony worked with us to understand our needs, how we wanted to use our backyard space (we have 2 young kids), what our budget was, and our timeline. We had numerous meetings with him, visited several suppliers to pick out materials and get inspired – he always had time for us.
Once the overall design was completed, he developed a plan for the installation process and coordinated every aspect. We felt so comfortable with the entire process – we could tell instantly that he loves what he does, cares deeply for his clients, works extremely hard to ensure we are happy with every stage, and is available to us. We had been through a few contractor nightmares but is was so easy working with him.
One of the things that stuck out in our minds was his vision! He was part of the design team and his ideas and concepts were spot on. He helped deliver a great design and then knew how to execute on perfectly. We never once worried about what was happening. He delivered on his word and the project came in under budget, on time (for our daughter’s birthday party), and beyond our dreams. Our backyard is the envy of the neighborhood and every time someone new shows up, the first thing they say is WOW, what an amazing backyard.

We did a large-scale backyard renovation and we interviewed 4 companies in the process. We had a bad experience with a contractor for our interior remodel and we were quite diligent in the vetting process for our outdoor living contractor. We had several meetings with each contractor, and it was clear Tony stood out from the rest. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, took the time to answer all of our questions, and we felt he truly understood our needs, concerns, and overall vision. Long story short – we were so pleased that we selected Tony! We had the pleasure of working with Tony on our backyard renovation. We weren’t sure what we wanted but with his help and experience, he developed a couple of concepts that we loved. He took the time to understand what we were looking for, our budget, our timeframe, and he helped create the vision. It was perfect – it took our existing elements and look, and blended it into a new patio, turf area, steppingstones, and garden beds. Our goal was to have a tranquil backyard where we could relax and entertain a few friends.
Well, we were thrilled with the results and the entire process. Ours was not an easy project! We talked with a few contractors, but we felt very comfortable with Tony because of his knowledge, his understanding of our vision and needs, his patience, and we could tell he truly loves what he does.
Even though we had a design already, we needed to feel comfortable that the result would meet with our needs. We had numerous meetings to layout the design, particular areas that were critical for us, better understand the look and size of the retaining walls, and spatial concerns for the main entertaining areas.
